Part 1: Introduction (15 min)

• Why Wild Sri Lanka? – Asia’s biodiversity hotspot
• Unique habitats & ecosystems – rainforests, dry zones, cloud forests, wetlands, coral reefs
• National Parks & Key Sites – Yala, Wilpattu, Sinharaja, Horton Plains, Minneriya, coastal reserves

Part 2: Wildlife Icons (15 min)

• The Sri Lankan Leopard – apex predator & photography icon
• The Asian Elephant – cultural heritage & “The Gathering”
• The Blue Whale – Sri Lanka’s waters as the world’s best whale-spotting site
• Other Highlights – ecosystems across rainforests, highlands, dry zones, and coasts

👥 🖥️ Session 2 (30 min): Birds of Sri Lanka – A Birder’s Paradise

Key Focus: Why Sri Lanka is among the top birding destinations globally.

• Endemic Birds – 34 unique species including Junglefowl, Blue Magpie, Serendib Scops Owl
• Resident Birds – raptors, waterbirds, and forest species
• Migratory Birds – arriving from Northern Asia (Nov–March peak season)
• Wetlands & Coastal Birding – Bundala, Kumana, Mannar, lagoons as hotspots
• Birding Circuits & Seasons – the best routes for birdwatchers
• Practical Birding Tips – spotting, documenting, and photographing responsibly

Closing (5 minutes)

• Why Sri Lanka is a “must-visit” destination for wildlife and birding
