The Gentle Giants Project — Conservation as a Commitment, Not a Campaign

Two species. Two worlds. One shared Purpose. 

The Asian Elephant and the Blue Whale are among the most ecologically significant animals on the planet. One shapes the forests and river systems of Asia through every step it takes. The other regulates ocean health at a scale we are only beginning to understand. Both face pressures that will not resolve themselves, habitat loss, climate change, human encroachment, and exploitation that has continued far longer than most conservation responses.

The Gentle Giants Project is AWPC WILDHUB’s answer to that reality.

What It Is

The Gentle Giants Project is the Give Back to Nature and impact arm of AWPC WILDHUB — the structural commitment through which the ecosystem contributes to the natural world it was built around. It launched in 2026 and is built on a straightforward principle: conservation backed by a community is more durable than conservation backed by a campaign.

AWPC WILDHUB does not profit from the Gentle Giants Project. Every initiative within it is partner-funded, community-supported, and accountable with impact reported publicly to the ecosystem. If we cannot measure it, we do not claim it.

 

Why These Two Species

The Asian Elephant and the Blue Whale represent the Gentle Giants Project — one from the land, one from the ocean. Together they reflect the full breadth of what this project stands for: wildlife, nature, and ocean life, treated as a connected whole rather than separate causes.

They were not chosen for their visual appeal, though both are extraordinary. They were chosen because of what they represent ecologically and what protecting them requires.

The Asian Elephant is a keystone species. Its movement patterns create pathways through dense forest that hundreds of other species depend on. Its feeding habits distribute seeds across vast distances. Its relationship with water shapes the landscapes it inhabits. Protecting the elephant means protecting entire ecosystems, not a single animal.

The Blue Whale is the largest creature to have ever lived on earth. It plays a central role in ocean nutrient cycling — its movement between feeding and breeding grounds distributes iron across ocean surfaces in quantities that sustain phytoplankton growth at scale. Phytoplankton produce more than half of the world’s oxygen. The chain is not abstract. It is the foundation of life as we know it.

These two species are the symbol. The project reaches far beyond them.

Beyond Two Species

The Gentle Giants Project is not limited to elephants and whales. It is an ongoing conservation commitment that will grow to encompass a wide range of species, habitats, and initiatives across wildlife, nature, and ocean life. The two flagship species represent the spirit of the project — its scope is the entire natural world.

 

One Earth. Not One Region.

The Gentle Giants Project begins in Asia — where AWPC WILDHUB was founded and where its first community was built. Asia holds some of the world’s most critically threatened biodiversity, and some of its most committed conservationists, researchers, and field practitioners. It is the right place to build the foundation.

But this project does not stop at any border. We treat Earth as one home. From launch, the Gentle Giants Project is designed to expand into Africa and South America — two of the planet’s most ecologically vital regions — as the ecosystem and its partnerships grow. Conservation does not respect geography. Neither do we.

 

How the Community Is Involved

The Gentle Giants Project connects the AWPC WILDHUB community to conservation in a way that goes beyond awareness. Community fundraising, conservation partnerships, field collaborations, and storytelling through the Media & Storytelling layer all feed into the project’s work. WILDHUB Premium members have direct access to Give Back to Nature updates, field reports, and partner initiatives as they develop.

The wild community does not just observe conservation. It participates in it.

What Comes Next

The Gentle Giants Project operates on a 12 to 36 month rolling plan, developed in partnership with conservation bodies, research institutes, and field practitioners who work directly in the habitats these species depend on. Impact is reported to the AWPC WILDHUB community annually, not as marketing, but as accountability.

We are at the beginning of what this project becomes. The foundation is being built correctly.
